Place your cursor anywhere within the dialog box and click the save_icon.jpg icon to save the query as a PDF, and/or the print_query_icon.jpg icon to print the query.

Export a Query

If your site requires you to copy and paste your query into another system, click the Export button. The query displays with your selections. Click either the Copy Text Version or the Copy Form Version button. The first option selects just the text of the form, and the second option selects the text as well as the form features such as checkboxes and text fields. The query is now on your clipboard for you to paste into another program or application.

You also have the option from this page to copy a direct link to this particular query to your clipboard. Simply highlight the link in the Direct Query Link field and copy it. You can then paste the link into an email and send it to another ChartWise 2.0 user.

Send/Publish a Query to the Query Recipient(s)

The Send button saves any edits you have made to the query and sends or "publishes" the query to the query recipient(s). Depending on how your site is configured/licensed, the Send button will send the query using one or more of the following methods:

Recipient’s Dashboard: When you click the Send button, information for this query is published on the recipient(s)’s Worklist table on the Dashboard page within the ChartWise application. This occurs every time you click the Send button, regardless of the other methods that your site may be using (email and/or outbound messages).

Email: When sending an email to a single query recipient, as long as the recipient is configured to receive emails, the link will be sent in an email. The recipient clicks on the link to access the open query in ChartWise. The recipient answers the query and the query is closed.

For multiple recipients, the link will be sent to all of them. If one of the query recipients does not have a valid email configured in the system, he/she will not receive the email notification. The first recipient to click the link will access the open query in ChartWise. Once the open query has been responded to, if any of the remaining recipients click the link in the email, they will be taken to the closed query in ChartWise and will not be able to respond to it.

Note: Staff members can receive notifications when the Send button has been clicked from the Queries page, when a query has been resolved for them, and whenever a note has been generated for an admission that they are associated to. However, ChartWise will not send multiple emails for the same event if it occurs within 15 minutes of the first email notification.

Message with a URL: As a licensed option, your site could choose to send a link to a query directly to your EMR using an outbound message. Similar to an email link, the recipient clicks on the link in the EMR to access the open query. The recipient answers the query and the query is closed.

Message with a PDF: As a licensed option, your site could choose to send a PDF of a query to your HIS using an outbound message. If the query is still open, a “Preliminary” PDF is sent to the HIS after clicking the Send button. Once the answered query has been submitted in ChartWise, a “Final” PDF is sent to the HIS automatically, but can also be sent manually by clicking the Send button from the Closed query. This option supports document deficiency management in your HIS.

For any of these methods,if you want to send the query to a different recipient, simply follow the instructions to change the query recipient.

Delete a Query

To delete a query, click the Delete button with the appropriate query open and displaying on the Queries tab. The query is removed immediately. Any codes that were generated or confirmed from that query will remain in the admission but will no longer be associated to the query. You will need to associate it to another query in order to confirm the code.

Upload a Query Response

To upload a query response, click the Upload button with the appropriate query open and displaying on the Queries tab. Browse to the appropriate PDF scan of the query and click Open. The scanned PDF now displays in ChartWise 2.0.
